Hardware Rental Terms
Last updated: 30 September 2026
These terms apply when a shop rents hardware (kiosk, tablet, display, or accessories) from QBarber. They form part of the Terms of Service and the hardware terms shown at checkout. If there is a conflict about ownership, care, faults, loss, or return of rented hardware, these terms apply. The Terms still govern liability and rights that cannot be excluded.
Read them with the Billing & Suspension Policy, Privacy Statement, Cookie Policy, and Data Processing Agreement. Rented hardware is a tool for your shop. It does not make QBarber responsible for shop delays, queue outcomes, or customer dissatisfaction. Queue estimates shown on a device are operational indicators only and are not guarantees.
1. Ownership
All rented hardware remains the property of QBarber. You receive a licence to use the hardware during your active subscription.
The licence is not a sale and does not transfer ownership. It lasts while the subscription that includes the rental is active and in good standing. Title, and any software on the device, remain with QBarber or its licensors. You must not sell, pledge, or present the hardware as your own property.
2. Use of hardware
You agree to:
- Use hardware only for your shop’s operations.
- Keep devices physically secure.
- Prevent unauthorised access.
- Use pairing codes only within your shop.
- Notify QBarber immediately if a device is lost or stolen.
- Unpair lost or stolen devices promptly.
Pairing codes, QR codes, and device tokens are confidential credentials. Do not publish them, photograph them for public use, or pair a device to a shop you are not authorised to operate. You are responsible for activity from a device that remains paired to your shop. You must not use a device to enter special-category or criminal-offence data, or to impersonate a role you are not authorised to use.
3. Condition
You must take reasonable care of rented hardware. You may not:
- Modify the device.
- Remove security features.
- Install unauthorised software.
- Attempt to bypass pairing or restrictions.
Restrictions include those applied automatically for billing status, misuse, or a security anomaly under the Billing & Suspension Policy. Fair wear from ordinary shop use is not, by itself, a breach of these terms.
4. Faulty hardware
If hardware becomes faulty through normal use:
- QBarber will replace it free of charge.
- Faults caused by misuse, damage, or unauthorised modification may incur fees.
Tell us at hello@qbarber.co.uk and follow the return instructions we give you. A replacement is provided during the rental period. The replacement remains QBarber’s property and is covered by these terms. QBarber does not promise that a particular device model will remain available. Features on the device may change without notice, provided core queue functionality remains while your subscription is active and in good standing.
5. Damage, loss, or non-return
You may be charged reasonable repair or replacement costs if:
- The device is damaged.
- The device is not returned.
- The device is lost or stolen.
- The device is modified without permission.
The charge is limited to the reasonable cost QBarber incurs to repair or replace that hardware, together with reasonable collection costs if you do not return it when required. You must tell QBarber immediately if a device is lost or stolen, and unpair it promptly, so pairing can be revoked. Delay in telling us does not transfer ownership to you.
6. End of rental
When your subscription ends or hardware rental is cancelled:
- You must return all rented hardware.
- QBarber may charge for non-return or damage.
- Pairing will be revoked.
Return the hardware promptly, in reasonable condition apart from fair wear, to the address or by the method we specify. If the subscription is suspended for overdue payment, misuse, or a security anomaly, pairing may be revoked before the rental ends. The duty to take care of the hardware continues until you return it. Outstanding rental or subscription fees remain payable, as set out in the Billing & Suspension Policy and the Terms.
